The Eleuthera Arts & Cultural Center (EACC) attracts and cultivates the visual and performing arts. It seeks to identify and document our tangible and intangible heritage. It welcomes local and off island, professional and amateur talent to interact with each other.

Vision

Situated in one of the most vibrant communities in the archipelago, EACC will become the first of its kind to document and interpret the past and shape the future.

Nestled adjacent to three historic second homeowner communities that once hosted the world’s rich and famous and a mere fifteen minutes from Rock International Airport, conditions could not be better to fan the flames of an artisan community that just a few years ago was threatened with irrelevance.

The EACC will incorporate a museum and gallery space, a playhouse, outdoor green space ideal for small meetings, and eventually, eating facilities. It will offer education through the arts to residents of Eleuthera, the Bahamas, and the world. Imagine an open mic night for poets, an open stage for those wanting to perform music or drama, a Bahamian Cuisine Festival, outdoor yoga classes overlooking the ocean, and a gallery space for visiting artists (including logistical support for the artist in residence). The EACC will also seek to offer professional development opportunities to local teachers by offering regular workshops in animation, desktop publishing, graphic design, etc.

Through its advisory board, the EACC boasts world class connections to Honolulu, Miami, New York, Nashville, Cincinnati, Nassau, and other cultural centers. Not only will it attract, inform, and inspire local patrons and talents but will garner a diverse patronage.
