The long-term vision for CTI is to become the country’s leading institution for training and skills development, focused on driving local innovation and creating economic opportunities in areas critical to the sustainable development of Eleuthera and The Bahamas. CTI will lead in identify educational, training and employment gaps and develop effective strategies and education-based solutions to benefit our local communities and economy.

The School

As a school, CTI offers a wide variety of in-person educational programs, short and long courses and diverse workshops for residents of the north, south and central communities of Eleuthera. Our main focus is Technical and Vocational Educational Training and our goal is to build capacity, character and communities through education and mentorship.

CTI operates from two physical locations on Eleuthera, the Rock Sound campus and CTI-H.I.T.S. (Harbour Island Trade School.)

Our school is an institution where students can grow and develop personally and professionally while contributing to a vibrant, sustainable economy for Eleuthera and The Bahamas.

Accreditation

CTI is registered with the National Accreditation and Equivalency Council of The Bahamas (NAECOB). All CTI courses excluding short courses (3-day courses) and Virtual Campus courses are approved by NAECOB.

The Vision

The long-term vision for CTI is to become a leading institution for training and skills development, a driver of innovation and a creator of economic opportunities and social entrepreneurship in areas critical to the sustainable development of Eleuthera communities and those throughout The Bahamas. CTI will be a leader in identifying educational, employment and other community needs and developing strategies and solutions for implementation to address these needs.

The Mission

CTI’s mission is to drive sustainability and innovation in an education and training environment that empowers people through skills development, leadership, entrepreneurship, and community development.

The Students

CTI students are encouraged to process, integrate and apply their learning through discipline, reflection and experiential learning. There are three distinct areas of influence in the CTI student experience: Training, Innovation & Personal Growth. We desire that our students be distinguishably different as they exhibit a positive attitude to life and a commitment to serve and participate in their personal development and the ongoing development of their communities and country.

The Virtual Campus

The online courses on our Virtual Campus focus on workforce readiness and provide young professionals with industry-specific training and valuable career development skills.

Students can gain 24/7 access to 200+ on-demand, self-paced courses in Human Resources, Communications, Interpersonal Skills, Project Management, Leadership, Marketing & Branding, Business Writing & Research, Business Management, Risk Management & Compliance, Accounting and Finance plus more.

The CTI “Learn and Earn” Program

CTI’s signature “Learn and Earn” program takes a multidimensional approach to improving employability by integrating personal development and civic responsibility courses alongside in-demand vocational training.

Students receive a weekly stipend from the start to the end of the program. On average, each course runs for twelve weeks and is facilitated by the Rock Sound campus. Students enrolled in the Learn and Earn Program have a unique opportunity to train in a discipline of their choice that consists of classroom time and hands-on training on real-world projects with skilled trade practitioners.

CTI-H.I.T.S.

CTI-H.I.T.S. was born out of a partnership with CTI and The Harbour Island Trade School in 2019. CTI-H.I.T.S. operates on Harbour Island as a satellite school for CTI facilitating programming and catering to students in communities located on Harbour Island and in the northern settlements of Eleuthera.

  • Carpentry
  • Basic Culinary
  • Electrical Installation
  • Front Desk Operations
  • Housekeeping
  • Baking Fundamentals (Bread and Breakfast Pastries)
  • The Professional Development and Empowerment Program

Courses typically run for 12-weeks.

CTI Short Courses

CTI offers a selection of Short Courses for students interested in acquiring basic entry-level into a new field or looking to expand their current skill set.
