On Saturday March 1st, 2014 a brief Breast Cancer presentation was given at the Hatchet Bay Boys Brigade company breakfast at Trinity Baptist church, Hatchet Bay. The boys were very attentive and intrigued about the information given on breast cancer. The younger boys were a bit shy to say the word ‘breast’. They asked questions and also answered questions from the quiz given at the end of the presentation. They learned new information such as what is breast cancer, and what a mammogram machine is. Each boy pledged to encourage their close adult female relatives to have regular mammograms and also to tell them why it is important to do regular screening. Each boy received breast cancer material and some won ‘Pinking It In Eleuthera’ t-shirts by answering questions correctly.
Note: One Eleuthera COC position is funded by a grant from Susan G. Komen.
