Creating Solutions for Small Island Sustainability

Since 2012, One Eleuthera Foundation (OEF) has been empowering communities across Eleuthera (The Bahamas) and transforming them into thriving, self-sufficient ecosystems. OEF develops initiatives that support all facets of community development including educational advancement, pathways to wellness, and economic empowerment through entrepreneurship and skills training. Today, we’re building on our founding document A Shared Vision for South Eleuthera, and courageously re-imagining our island and country’s future.

Through OEF’s consistent dedicated efforts, the tenacity and resourcefulness of our local communities, and the support of donors and partners we are improving lives, creating change–and building a resilient community development model. This model can be adopted and implemented by other islands and Small Island Developing States (SIDS.)

Our Mission

STRENGTHENING, CONNECTING, PLANNING, TOGETHER

A Holistic Approach

Our work centers on holistic, sustainable community development around Five Key Areas of Focus: economic development, educational advancement, environmental sustainability, health promotion, and heritage preservation. OEF supports and collaborates with a network of aligned partner organizations and community actors to create change around these focus areas and across Eleuthera’s communities. These partnerships are central to fulfilling our mission and vision.

The OEF–CTI Connection

Many of OEF’s programs are pioneered through our sister organization, the Centre for Training and Innovation (CTI), and facilitated on our 50-acre training campus in Rock Sound, known as the “CTI Campus.” Learn more about our social enterprises and exciting community-based training initiatives below.

The Centre for Training and Innovation (CTI School)

CTI identifies educational, training, and employment gaps on our island and develops strategies and training programs to address them. CTI offers short and long courses, workshops, and paid learning opportunities. Part of our goal is to invest in people and build self-sufficiency, while also strengthening our local communities and economy.

Support the Foundation

When you give to One Eleuthera Foundation, you are investing in people. Through innovative education and training programs, we are strengthening under-resourced communities and creating pathways to success and empowerment.
