Meet CTI Trainee - Emily Munnings

Mavis "Ms Emily" Munnings, is a 62-year-old resident of Savannah Sound. She is currently a carpentry trainee at the Centre for Training and Innovation (CTI). She moved to Eleuthera in 2001 and from 2005 developed her craft as a local straw artisan on Eleuthera. Last year she attended a BTVI and One Eleuthera Foundation sponsored event and after her experience there, she decided to enroll into the CTI program.

Supporting Central & South Eleuthera through Partnerships since 2001: The impact of Windermere Island Foundation

In 2008, Mr Shaun Ingraham, then Founder and President of South Eleuthera Emergency Partners (SEEP) and Island Journeys, approached the Windermere Island Foundation (WIF) to assist with establishing SEEP’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Needless to say, Windermere Island Foundation, under the leadership of President Luci Baines-Johnson and its board, believed in the vision of Mr Ingraham and made a financial contribution to assist in bringing the project to fruition.

Saint Mark United Methodist Church Annual Visit to Eleuthera

For the past 13 years visitors from Saint Mark United Methodist Church, South Carolina have been a part of a ongoing mission trip to Eleuthera. Their most recent visit took place from October 21st to 28th. A group of 19 persons from Saint Mark volunteered with the One Eleuthera Foundation (OEF) and other organizations on Eleuthera.

Celebrating Five Years

of a Shared Vision

The Shared Vision for South Eleuthera, which was first commissioned by Friends of Lighthouse Point to develop a sustainable plan for Lighthouse Point and other special heritage and conservation sites on Eleuthera, inspired the formation of One Eleuthera.
