Employee Profile: Meet Errol

Mr Errol McPhee is a native of Millars, Bannerman Town, Eleuthera. He has been working indirectly with One Eleuthera Foundation (OEF) since 2008 when he helped with developing the shared vision for South Eleuthera and gave his perspective on the educational needs of Eleutherans. Having made significant contributions to the vision for Eleuthera from 2008 and with over 35 years of experience in education, Errol became a formal employee of OEF in October 2014.

CTI Trainee Profile: Meet Kenneth Jones

Originally from San Salvador, Mr Kenneth Jones is a 46 year old resident of Rock Sound, Eleuthera were he currently lives with his wife and their two daughters. Kenneth is enrolled in the Centre for Training and Innovation (CTI) Landscaping Learn and Earn Program. Before moving to Eleuthera, Kenneth was working as a plumber and pool attendant at Club Med in San Salvador.

One Eleuthera Promotes Economic Empowerment

On Eleuthera, unemployment is estimated to be as high as 70% in some areas and poverty is correspondingly high, with an estimated 20.3% of Eleutherans living in poverty, as reported in the State of the Nation Report 2016. It is a known fact that these two economic problems can be key causes of crime and require innovative solutions.

A Shared Vision

The Shared Vision for South Eleuthera, which was first commissioned by Friends of Lighthouse Point to develop a sustainable plan for Lighthouse Point and other special heritage and conservation sites on Eleuthera, inspired the formation of One Eleuthera.
